FITNESS First Norwest have come under fire from angry members who are fed up with what they claim is shoddy service and a bad attitude from staff.
Grahame Dorahy from Kenthurst is a gold member of the Norwest gym, who has complained to the club management and the Fair Trading Department.
"We the paying members are receiving a very raw deal at the hands of poor, inefficient, incompetent and uncaring management," he said.
A spokeswoman for Fitness First Norwest which is affiliated with an international chain of health clubs, declined to comment on the complaints.
Mr Dorahy cites the constant late arrival of staff, cancellation of classes without any notice, staff arriving without keys to open up among a list of what he describes as "simply shocking service".
"The gym advertises as opening at 5.30am," he said. "More often than not at 6am there is still no one there."
Fellow long-term member Steve Grosryder is also disgruntled with the quality of the club's service.
"The club has been shut well beyond the advertised opening hours at least half a dozen times recently," he said.
"People actually start jogging around the carpark. If the staff focused on customer service half as much as they do on their sales targets it would be a much better place."
Another member Ben Goodbrand says the gym needed to clean up their act, literally.
"Amidst other complaints the place is a health hazard," he said. "It is a dirty and messy gym with equipment strewn everywhere."
